There are nine tastefully decorated rooms to choose from all named after period writers which may or may not have graced these halls. In the morning awake to a delicious breakfast which owner/chef John prepares to order. Special events are currently scheduled throughout the year such as musical concerts in our garden, a night of cabaret, and our annual Christmas in the Village book signing by childrens author and illustrator Steven Kellogg. You could also take part in wine tasting, pie baking, or cider pressing on a crisp Fall afternoon. Our Happy Cat Shop is filled with Folk Art, unique gifts & intriguing treasures featuring current best sellers, regional and children's books with book signings by famed author and illustrator Steven Kellogg. Only a half block from Lake Champlain and the ferry to Vermont, we will cater to your every whim and see to it that your private affair, whatever it may be, is a very special event.

Trish and John Walker, owners and innkeepers of the Essex Inn, realized a dream come true when they bought the Inn in 1995. Trish, who had always wanted to host a bed & breakfast, utilized her gardening and decorating skills to help bring about the transformation of this wonderful Essex landmark. John obtained his culinary talents at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and felt he had found the perfect setting to develop his personal techniques and to delight not only guests of the Inn, but the general public with his signature dishes.

General Information: Check in time is 3:00 PM. Guests are welcome to use the Inn's facilities upon arrival. Check out time is 11:00 AM. We are a non-smoking facility. Ask about our pet accommodations. High Speed Internet access is available. Gift certificates are also available.

Guaranteed Reservations: Reservations much be guaranteed by advance deposit on a credit card or case or check payment. Balance due upon arrival.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Refunds, less $20.00 processing fee, will be made if notice of cancellation is received
at least 14 days prior to date of arrival. If less than 14 days, the deposit will be forfeited unless the room is re-rented
which will initiate the return of the deposit.
